Create and share your own Hall of Fame baseball card

Before Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza are inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday, you too can put a Hall of Fame stamp on your baseball fandom.

Beginning on Wednesday, fans that downloaded the free Rookies app from the Apple App Store can create a branded and personalized “Future Hall of Famer” baseball card. Those cards can then be shared on social media using the hashtag #HOFWKND.

There’s an advantage to doing that too, as a few lucky winners will receive a free pack of cards of their own creation.

Here’s one example.

Modern technology is a wonderful thing, isn’t it?

Fans can also have their created card printed and shipped to their homes to have as a keepsake or show off to their non-Hall of Fame friends.

“The National Baseball Hall of Fame is an iconic destination – not only for baseball’s greats, but also for fans that want to pay homage to their heroes,” Rookie founder Matt Sebek said in a press release. “Offering brands and organizations a creative way to interact with fans is the next evolution for Rookies and we could not be happier to kick it off with an organization as engrained in the fabric of American sports as the National Baseball Hall of Fame.”

Since bursting on the scene in 2013, Rookies has allowed fans to snap new photos or place an old photo into one of over a dozen templates modeled after classic baseball card designs of the 80s. The original concept was a big hit, and now Rookies is looking to add new dimensions beginning with the Hall of Fame card.

“We are excited to work with Rookies and bring an interactive experience to baseball fans, young and old, in a way they haven’t experienced before,” said Sean Gahagan, the Vice President Retail & Licensing at the Baseball Hall of Fame. “This partnership extends well beyond this year’s induction ceremony and we look forward to offering additional capabilities to our visitors in the future.”

The Hall of Fame cards are sure to be a big hit as well. If you’re interested in learning about the Rookies app or how you can have your own cards shipped to your home, visit their website.
