Cubs fans lose their minds after catching Kris Bryant home run

Catching a home run ball at a baseball game is a rare feat. Many of us will go an entire lifetime without achieving that level of glory.

As such, accomplishing that milestone deserves to be celebrated. Doubly so when you manage to catch a home run off the bat of the leading MVP candidate in the National League.

That’s precisely what happened to these Chicago Cubs fans during Tuesday’s game against the San Diego Padres. Despite the fact that the Cubs were on the road, these fans showed up clad in Cubs gear to root on their favorite club.

They got their opportunity to show their excitement in the third inning. With one out in the frame, third baseman Kris Bryant smashed a 91 mph fastball to the seats in shallow left.

The ball lands right in the mitt of a young Cubs fans who came to watch Bryant beat up on the Padres. Upon closer inspection, the kid is pretty freaking excited. The guy to his left, however, proceeds to go nuts.

If you had any doubt about who caught the home run, pointing Cubs fan was going to let you know. Let’s not understate his performance here. This was an MVP-caliber performance from a hype man. Pointing Cubs fan knows the moment isn’t about him, and takes the chance to give all the credit and glory to his friend. It’s a selfless performance, really. You just don’t see that anymore these days.

If selfless pointing Cubs fan is reading this, we’re going to suggest he consider a career change and become a professional hype man. Who doesn’t want someone standing, pointing and clapping for them every time they finish a TPS report?
