Joe Namath says he's sorry for questioning Geno Smith's knee injury
Even a 73-year-old Hall-of-Fame quarterback can learn that impulsive tweets can sometimes turn out looking pretty bad.
Like on Sunday, when Joe Namath questioned the severity of New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith’s knee injury. Smith was tackled in an awkward way and was done for the rest of the game.
If you've got a right knee injury keeping you out of the game why are you standing on the sideline the entire 2nd half? How bad can it be?

On Monday, we found out that Smith had torn his ACL and would be done for the season. Seems to be a good excuse for not continuing to play.
Smith seemed confused about why Namath would question him, but clearly didn’t want to publicly blast a Jets legend. But once the ACL news was out, we got to see an NFL legend drop a “my bad” on Twitter.
@GenoSmith7 My bad Geno. In the dark ages we players had the say. I hope you heal and play as long as you choose! Joe

Namath, for some reason, is still a go-to source for a reporter looking for someone to give an opinion on the state of the Jets. Namath has always been opinionated, so he always delivers.
Once in a while, he goes a little too far and has to apologize.
