Let Hassan Whiteside teach you to how to dance

After agreeing to re-up on a $98.6 million maximum-salaried contract to remain the man in the middle for a Miami Heat club that underwent some serious changes this offseason, center Hassan Whiteside knew he had to spend his summer working on his moves to be able to confidently lead Miami into a new era. From the looks of things, he did exactly that:

There’s part of me that thinks Hassan’s overestimating the malleability of that two-step, those hands in the air, and that strut. But then … I mean … “Whiteside don’t lie” just sounds so convincing.

It’s pretty considerate of Whiteside to try to help out those of us who might pull something trying to follow in the intricate footsteps of Russell Westbrook and Cameron Payne:

As much as I appreciate Whiteside getting his Hitch on, though, the thing this video makes me think more than anything is, “At what point will Whiteside wind up in an intra-divisional dance battle with Charlotte Hornets center Frank Kaminsky?”

I’m betting midseason, at the latest, provided both players stay healthy. And, of course, they will, because as no less an expert than Boris Diaw has taught us, dancing is a great way to get and stay healthy. And fresh. One mustn’t forget freshness.
