Nathan MacKinnon swishes blind half-court shot in Nuggets swag (Video)

Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon is capable of great things. We’ve seen him win the Calder Trophy. We’ve seen him open this season with a point-per-game pace. We’ve seen him outshine Sidney Crosby’s personality in commercials for a donut shop. OK, the bar was low for that one.

So when MacKinnon stepped on the court at the Denver Nuggets’ practice facility, we were confident he would do something special. And with Altitude TV cameras rolling, he reminded the world why you don’t challenge a G.O.A.T from Cole Harbour to a game of P.I.G.

Blind. Half-court. Over the back. Nothing but net.

Had this been an NBA game, he probably would have won plane tickets to the destination of his choice. Or, like, free burritos for his section. Or something.

Our favorite moment of the video is when Kyle Keefe of Altitude is going in for the “aw, man, nice shot” high-five and MacKinnon goes in for the “THIS IS THE GREATEST ATHLETIC ACHIEVEMENT OF MY YOUNG LIFE!” hug. Awkward bliss.

Then again, maybe this wasn’t so hard after all:

Oh well. At least MacKinnon got a chance to rock a Jamal Murray jersey. Canadian game recognize Canadian game.
