'Timeless' Vin Scully helps MLB Network hype postseason

If the action on the field during the wild-card games and League Division Series hasn’t had your heart pounding, there’s probably nothing we can do to help you. We’re still going to try though, and we’re going to start by directing your attention to this splendid video hyping MLB Network’s national free preview, which will feature two NLDS broadcasts. That includes Saturday’s Cubs-Giants Game 2, which begins at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The video, titled “Timeless,” is narrated by Tom Selleck and prominently features Vin Scully, whose legacy is the very definition of that word, timeless.

The video is the beauty of baseball covered from every possible angle. It’s the unpredictability. It’s the drama. It’s the passion. Above all, it’s Scully’s ability to bring those moments to life, which should take all of us back to a moment or moments that fueled our passion for baseball to begin with.

It’s also the reason why you shouldn’t miss another moment of the action. Something legendary could happen at any moment. And though Vin Scully won’t be on the call this time, he’ll have no doubt inspired the person who does.
